The size difference between Gophers and Moles
Larger jaws - 2 7/8"
Gophers create a crescent U shaped mound. You will most likely see the hole (that is plugged up) and they will plug it up once they are done feeding . An adult gopher can control a territory up to 1500-2000'.

Moles create a mound similar to a volcano (conical), they push dirt straight up. Usually if you see dirt clods near the hole it will be from a Mole.
